At her words, he merely flicked an ear in her direction but said nothing, knowing he wasn’t the one she was speaking to. At her next words he raised an eyebrow at her and snorted Please. he said in a condescending tone I am standing this close to you because I find invading your personal bubble quite entertaining. Her assessment of him did not go unnoticed and, momentarily, a smirk touched his muzzle before he smoothed it over. Although, her insult didn’t go over so well You should watch where you place your insults, Aeona. he replied in warning, placing great emphasis on her name to further his point. If I wanted you, he said in an icy tone, his emerald eyes narrowing into thin angry slits I would have just taken you. Which was true, although, he had always drawn the line at taking a female against her will. Out of all the horrendous things he had done and others could do, there was something about that act drew his nose up in disgust. It seemed only the lowest of the low sank to that level and he would be damned if he sank that low. Maiming and torturing others was one thing, taking a female against her will was an entirely different ballgame- one he never wished to play…Plus, if he really wanted a female, he would just wait until she went into heat, because most females could hardly deny a male when in such hot desire, but he had never crossed that bridge because he moved on before then. A harsh stab on the side of his face brought an immediate snarl to his lips, his body taking on an offensive posture. She had caught him by surprise, something he wasn’t use to and he wasn’t all that thrilled about it. It wasn’t that she had invaded his personal space, that he could tolerate, but the fact that she had jab him…well, that set him off. His body moved instinctually as he rose and slowly began to circle her, like a predator zeroing in on its prey. His emerald eyes were hooded, masking any real emotion, but his body language signaled something sinister was crawling its way through his mind as he continued to circle her. Over his snarls he could hear her words and just like that, something in his mind clicked and it all came to a stop. His tail dropped to a relaxed position and he returned to his haunches, his behavior moments ago seemingly forgotten as his curiosity returned, along with a smidge of amusement. He supposed that he had kinda, sorta deserved that jab in the face. After all, he had invaded her personal bubble (which he still continued to do) and she was only returning the “favor” by taking it a step further. Payback is a bit of a bitch he thought with an inward chuckle. She was bold, that was for sure. His ears pulled forward to catch her next words, but they didn’t sit well with him. The thought of bowing, submitting to another made his blood curl and his lips pulled back in disgust, as surge of absolute defiance swelled within him. No. He had no interest in being someone’s…pet or subordinate, he had far too much pride for that. As enticing as she made the option of joining this pack of hers, he couldn’t fathom tethering himself to another creature. Unless he considered them his equal, which he highly doubted the alpha of the Amarok pack would be. In the seven years he had been on this planet, he had never submitted to an alpha or one who considered themselves of higher rank than he. Never. And he had no plans to start now. As…enticing, he almost sneered the word, but reigned it in as that is. I am going to decline. I have no desire to align myself with a pack of any kind nor do I ever wish to have someone ruling over me and be their pawn. his tone was icy with a slight tint of anger to it, as he watched her through narrowed eyes. He bristled and his body stiffened as the thought of being someone’s pet continued to roll around in his mind. Hell would freeze over before he ever bowed to another. Suddenly, like a flick on a switch, his mood shifted as her body dipped to the ground, enticing him to play. He sniffed and remained where he was, unmoving, but her playful manor was contagious and unconsciously his tail gave just a slight wag. Very slowly, his haunches rose into the air and his lower body dipped to the ground, mirroring her posture. His muscles groaned slightly at the position, unused to bending in such a manor, but it felt like a sweet release. It had been a very, very long time since he had taken up such a position with another, but her playfulness was irresistible to him. A rare mischievous gleam entered his emerald eyes when he looked at her, the adrenaline in his body spiking, as a grin stretched across his muzzle. His tail began to wag rhythmically as he slipped more and more into a playful manor. You are playing with fire, my dear he said in a half warning, half teasing tone. Darting towards her with astonishing fleetness, he placed a firm, playful nip on her shoulder before racing past her, scattering snow everywhere. Skittering a decent distance from her, his dipped back to the ground haunches in the air and tail bouncing back and forth. That was for jabbing me in the face. he said with a dark, mischievous grin. And I will look at you however I wish, mysterious or otherwise, because it pleases me he said as his ebony form bounded towards her, coming within striking distance before dancing away again, his manor teasing.

♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸ G є η є ѕ ι ѕ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ [smear:da8c98] A pale figure flitted silently through the swampy marsh, weaving in and out the thick undergrowth and mud pits as if in a game of hide and seek. However, this was no hide and seek game: this was just a silent stroll through the heart of the this place.
The gait of this wanderer showed itself plainly as a female. The fae paced herself accordingly like a queen, every step filled with grace and dignity. That, in turn, gives her the advantage of acting and receiving respect. Her pale white coat blends her neatly into Tue snowy background--she is but a passing shadow in this winter wonderland. [/smear:ab71b6][smear:ab71b6] So, why is this femmora here in the first place? Well, she has no one to pay allegiance to. Of that state she is certain will not remain that way for long. Being a loner had taught her many things, and she had been extremely grateful for all the experience nature had taught her. Even with all its harsh elements, this female had not lost her sense of gentle duty to a pack.
True, she may not have had any social contact for a while, so she may not be so easy on the manners as most would. However, her natural instinct is driving her to where more of her kind populates. Hence, her entering this land alone...yet unafraid. [/smear:da8c98]

Xavier’s lips pulled up into a snarl in frustration as he, yet again, sunk elbow deep into the mud. This was hardly what he would call an idea place to live, but for some odd reason creatures did. Bracing himself on a small patch of reeds, he tugged repeatedly until the slop released his limb. Free, he shook himself once and continued on, this time sticking to the reeds as much as possible to avoid getting stuck again. His coat was caked in mud from chest to toes, and the stiffness of it made the trek rather uncomfortable for the ebony wolf. A low growl was emitted from his throat in irritation, he was ready to be out of this mess. As he finally parted from the godforsaken land and into the surrounding forest, he raised an eyebrow in surprise upon seeing an ivory form slinking through the trees. Well, well, what do we have here? he thought as he took a step towards her, his gaze cold and uninviting. She seemed preoccupied at the moment and he took that opportunity to observe her before she took notice of him. The ivory female seemed on the small side for his kind and like the crimson wolf he had met a couple of weeks ago, young. When her scent reached his nose, it was evident that she was without a pack and had been alone for sometime. That was unusual for a female, typically they aligned themselves with a pack for protection. What was with the females here? He watched for a few moments longer before stepping from the shadows and into her line of sight, but he kept his distance. It is unwise for one so young to be traveling alone. he finally spoke in an icy tone.

♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸ G є η є ѕ ι ѕ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ [smear:da8c98] The female wolf continued to make her way through the endless pits of the marsh. Her pace had slackened to a slow and easy walk. In truth, there was no reason for her to delay her steps, except the owner's own uncertainties.
Yup, she was lost.
Lost in this place she had never been before.
Instinctively, her nose went up. She tried sniffing her way out, but it came back with a blank. That information did not exactly calm her jittery nerves. Great, just great... A light breeze came along. She licked her nose. It sure was getting chilly, especially when Night is creeping silently along the wilderness. Also, the zephyr was blowing against her, so it was not doing her any good. Any other creature in these parts would be able to smell her, but not vice versa. Scary, indeed.
The silence really could be unnerving, especially in the falling darkness in an unfamiliar place. Any sound could scare you out of your pelt in this setting. Genesis shivered slightly. Get yourself together, girl! Composing herself and gathering her wits about her, she forced herself to relax. Chill, Genesis... Dark orbs scanned the area. All of her nerves were on high alert, and her ears were perked up, moving this way and that, like an active sonar. [/smear:ab71b6][smear:ab71b6]
Genesis continued her mental discussion, willing herself to stay calm and collected. It will not do to freak out and get even more lost than more...if that is even possible, that is. Get a grip on yourself! She scolded herself. She was doing anything, anything to distract her from the fear that was growing up on her. The darkness slowly shrouded its deadly grip upon the tender soul, yet like how the sky was slowly dying off into the night.
It was thus a shock when she caught sight of another figure standing not far off from her. A squeal of surprise passed her lips before she could stop it. Much to her relief, it did not echo or bounce off the thicket as she thought it would; it instead dissipated into the creeping fog. Frozen, she stood facing the other. The stranger broke the stare-off first.
It is unwise for one so young to be traveling alone.
"True," she admitted, though keeping her tone closely guarded. "And what if this was forced on me?" She was careful not to give out any additional information about herself until the other has proven himself worthy. [/smear:da8c98]

The white females nerves did not go unnoticed, despite her attempt at hiding them. His ears flickered forward to catch her vocals in return to his question, and a cool smile touched his muzzle at her words. I would say you have been very unfortunate he replied unsympathetically, as he lowered his haunches to the ground and neatly wrapped his tail around his feet. Pity and empathy were not emotions he often felt, finding they were more a sign of weakness than strength, but there were always exceptions to that thought. More so now that he was older. Long, long ago he had felt little to no emotion towards anyone or thing, other than bloodlust. But over the years, he found it…unsatisfying. In that, the happiness he felt when taking another’s life was fleeting, and could not sustain him for very long before he would have to kill another to feel again. In the end, he found emotions such as love, kindness, and empathy were feelings that lasted longer and made him feel more complete, but they were also emotions he struggled to express and maintain. There were other things too that reinforced those positive emotions like family, a pack, and a certain level of acceptance, but once lost, it was hard for him to regain them. To allow himself to open up and feel again…well, it was a struggle to say the least. Returning to the way he was before would be so much easier, but it would mean tarnishing everything good he had fought so hard to build and probably the most important reason, Saria. She would never forgive him if he returned to the wolf he once was and that was something not even he could swallow. Even from the grave she still had a huge influence on him. The days following her death, the pain in his heart was felt crippling, but over the years, that pain grew less and less as his heart began to heal- although it would never be quite the same. A wolf never forgets their first love, nor do they ever fully recover from the loss, but despite that loss your life does not end. So, even though she had been his first love, he knew that she would not be his last. Dying alone was not the kind of end that he wanted. Even so, there was a large part of him that fought and snarled and refused to bow (in acknowledgement or respect of another) or share (emotions, items, himself, his life), despite that fact that he really needed those things. They were humbling, but they caused him to be constantly at war with himself. To balance his desires with his needs was the greatest battle he had fought. Cocking his head, he eyed her coldly, his emerald eyes sweeping critically over her small frame before landing on her eyes. He held her gaze for quite a while, before shifting his attention elsewhere when she grew uncomfortable, but it didn’t take long before it was back. Silence surrounded them as neither wolf spoke, each observing the other, at last he broke the stillness, his vocals cold and hard What are you doing here? he asked, although it came out more as an accusation than a question.
